Directors Workshop

Would you like to direct a play but maybe didn’t know if you could or how to start?

One of our seasoned Directors Joe Mendell is hosting an informal evening on Friday 12th October to help you find out where you could start.

It will look at some of the internal issues regarding directing a GADS production.  Used in conjunction with the GADS Directors Guide, this workshop is designed to look at some of the do’s and the don'ts, the why’s and the why not’s, the should’s and the shouldn’t have’s involved with directing a successful production.

If you have ever considered directing, then put this date in your diary and join us; it is more exciting than you might think.

A NIGHT OF IMPROV

A fun night of improvised games and excercises run by members of the society for members and non-members alike.  Anyone interested can come although participation is mandatory - no sitting on the sidelines and just watching.

This event is a good chance to come and meet some of the society, and with no lines to learn or continued commitment, is a great opportunity for you busy bees.

We are going to be running a selection of evening play readings over the next few months and would love to see you there.

These evenings will be held by members of the society in an informal setting (usually involving a glass of wine for those who wish it) with the sole aim of having a bit of fun.  We will look to do a variety of well-known and more obscure works spanning an array of genres.

Members and non-members welcome.

This is a great opportunity for those who don't fancy treading the boards (or wish to dip their toe before taking the plunge), as well as those who can only spare one night now and again.
